Metabolism + Energy
You’re going to bed earlier. You’re skipping the late-night scrolling. You even sleep through the night.
So why do you still wake up feeling exhausted?
If this is you, you’re not alone—and guess what? It’s not just your sleep routine. The real problem might be happening inside your cells.
The Mineral-Metabolism Connection
Let's talk minerals. Your body needs certain minerals—like magnesium, potassium, sodium, and calcium—not just to survive... but to thrive.
These minerals are the spark plugs for your energy and metabolism. When they’re out of balance, your cells can’t efficiently produce energy. And that can lead to symptoms like:
-
Constant fatigue or feeling tired, even after a good night's sleep
-
Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
-
Weight loss resistance (like that stubborn 10 lb you can't seem to lose)
-
Anxiety or overwhelm
-
Water retention or swelling (aka looking 'puffy' in the morning)
From Frustrated with Fatigue to Refreshed
This is exactly what was going on with my client, R.F.
She came to me super frustrated—she was sleeping 8 hours a night, eating a relatively clean diet, and moving her body most days of the week. But despite all these habits, her energy still felt flat. She described feeling “foggy and heavy,” and said it was like her body just wasn’t responding to all the good things she was doing.
We ran an HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis) test, which is a hair sample test that check for mineral imbalances and metal toxicity. R.F.'s test showed she was a slow oxidizer (or slow metabolizer), with:
-
A high sodium-to-potassium ratio, which can lead to water retention, a sluggish metabolism, and (you guessed it) stubborn weight gain.
-
A high calcium relative to potassium, which is a common indicator that your body is moving towards hypothyroidism (even if your thyroid levels look "normal" on your traditional bloodwork!).
Once we personalized her nutrition, added key mineral support, and made a few lifestyle tweaks, her energy started to come back. By week six, she was waking up refreshed and even noticed some of the weight she had been holding onto was finally starting to budge.
This Month's Meal Plan
Since August is all about boosting your energy and fire starting your metabolism, I wanted this month's meal plan to get you moving in the right direction. It's all about fueling your body with energy balancing plates that keep your hormones happy and your belly satisfied. Enjoy the recipes and let me know what you think!
Bottom Line, Your Body isn't Broken...
But it may be out of balance.
If all of your labs from your doctor look “normal” but you still feel off, it could be a sign that your minerals are out of balance—which can happen long before they show up as a disease diagnosis.
This month, I’ll be sharing more about how minerals impact your metabolism, energy, and weight loss resistance—and how you can regain your energy and boost that sluggish feeling with Mineral testing.
I’m also hosting a special metabolism and energy workshop later this month, where I’ll break down how mineral imbalances show up in high-performing women who feel constantly tired (even when they’re doing “everything right”). More details to come on that!
Curious what your minerals might be telling you?
If you’d like to learn more about testing your mineral levels, email me at [email protected], and reply with your name + the word MINERALS in the subject line or first line of your message. I’ll personally reach out with next steps.
You don’t have to stay stuck in survival mode. Your energy is worth fighting for—and we can figure it out together.
